Shipping cards across Canada: tracking and insurance

Canada is a long country and parcels get stacked. A toploader in a paper envelope will show that trip. Tracked, insured Canada Post service is the default we ask for, both to us and on the way home.

Track it or do not send it

If the parcel cannot be followed, we cannot tell a lost package from a late one. Keep the tracking number in the same email thread as your plan. We share the intake address only after you approve the work, which keeps cards from arriving as surprises.

Sign for the return if the value warrants it. We send tracking when the card leaves Kingston.

Insurance should match replacement cost

Coverage that stops at a token amount is not insurance for a chase card. Look at what it would cost to buy the same card again, then buy coverage that is in that neighborhood. We cannot invent a claim if the label was declared as a gift worth twenty dollars.

Take photos of the packed sandwich before it goes in the box. If something lands crushed, those photos help.

Box vs bubble mailer

A rigid sandwich can travel in a bubble mailer. Several cards, a heavier loader, or a high-value single is happier in a small box with no rattle. The packing guide shows the sequence.

Do not reuse a crushed box. Do not mark the outside “valuable cards.” Mail-in is Canada only, so you are not dealing with customs on this trip.
